About Bike Gear
Call it comeback or an adaptation to Covid Lockdowns but Cycling Promotional Items or Bike branded Promotional Products have seen a massive increase in sales over the years 2020 – 22 and stronger forecast is predicted for 2023. rPET is usually used in a blend of 50/50 recycled materials, with cotton component or as the demand’s increases, we are now the supply and demand actually reducing the cost of the recycled material making it an economically environmental cost saver, hence we are finally seeing a blend of 90/10, 90% rPET with 10% Virgin PET or cotton.
By Shifting to rPET, which is made from recycled plastic bottles to date there has been 33 billion plastic single use plastic bottles and counting, reprocessed to create something new from old. That’s 33 billion single use bottles not in landfill of even worse our Ocean and waterway eco systems.
Cycling products are limited to just cycling tops and shorts but also include water bottles, yes we recommend a plastic drink bottle to be produced from rPET, we need to stop using PET as the preferred for plastic bottles as even though its 100% recyclable and highly sustainable in theory, from our research we have found that approximate only 62% of all recycling actually gets anywhere near the recycling station meaning a lot still go to landfill, not into the consumers hands.
